General

What exactly does Maison Décor do? +
Maison Décor is a full-service luxury interior design studio based in Mumbai. We offer end-to-end interior design for residential and commercial spaces — from concept development and 3D visualisation through to procurement, project management, custom furniture, and final styling.
Do you work only in Mumbai? +
Our primary market is Mumbai and the broader MMR region. However, for exceptional projects we do take on work across India. We also offer virtual consultations for clients anywhere in the country.
How long has Maison Décor been operating? +
We were founded in 2012 by Ananya Sharma. Over 12+ years we have completed 450+ projects and won 15 national design awards. We're proud to be one of Mumbai's most established luxury interior design studios.
Do you work on commercial projects as well as residential? +
Yes. We design boutique hotels, restaurants, offices, spas, and retail spaces in addition to private homes. Our commercial portfolio includes several well-known Mumbai establishments.

What services do you offer? +
Our services include: Full Interior Design, Custom Furniture & Furnishing, Space Planning, Home Styling, Renovation Management, and Design Consultation. Each can be engaged independently or as a combined package. Visit our Services page for full details.
Can I hire you just for a consultation without a full project? +
Absolutely. We offer standalone design consultations — 60-minute sessions with a senior designer that include a written recommendations report and shopping guide. The first session is complimentary.
Do you handle civil and construction work? +
We manage renovation and civil work through our vetted contractor network but do not employ contractors ourselves. We act as your agent — briefing, supervising, and quality-checking all civil work on your behalf. All contractual and payment relationships remain between you and the contractors.
Can you work with my existing furniture? +
Definitely. During the brief phase we audit your existing furniture and décor, determining what to retain, repurpose, or replace. We're skilled at integrating beloved pieces into entirely new design schemes.

Process

What does the design process look like? +
Our process has five phases: (1) Discovery — we listen and assess your space; (2) Concept Design — mood boards, layouts, 3D renders; (3) Design Development — detailed drawings, specifications, and procurement begins; (4) Execution — site supervision and project management; (5) Styling & Reveal — the final transformation. How involved do I need to be in the process? +
As much or as little as you prefer. Some clients love being consulted at every stage; others prefer a monthly summary with key approvals. We structure our communication entirely around your availability and preferences.
What if I change my mind about a design decision mid-project? +
Design is iterative, and we fully expect some evolution of ideas. We have a structured Change Order process — any scope change is documented, costed, and approved by you before we proceed. There are no surprise charges.
Do you provide 3D visualisations before work starts? +
Yes. All our full-design projects include detailed 3D renders of key rooms and a digital walkthrough, so you can see exactly what your space will look like before a single nail goes in.

Pricing

How much does an interior design project cost? +
Project costs depend on scope, size, and material choices. As a guide: Home Styling starts from ₹5 lakhs, Full Interior Design from ₹25 lakhs, and Bespoke/Masterpiece projects from ₹60 lakhs. We provide a detailed, fixed-price proposal after the discovery session so there are no surprises.
Do you charge a design fee or work on commission? +
We charge a transparent design fee for our professional services. We do not work on undisclosed commissions. If we receive trade discounts from suppliers (which we sometimes do), we pass these savings directly to you.
Is the initial consultation free? +
Yes — your first discovery consultation (45–60 minutes, in-studio or virtual) is completely complimentary with no obligation. Subsequent standalone consultation sessions are billed at ₹8,000 per session.
What is your payment structure? +
We typically work with a structured milestone payment schedule: 30% on project commencement, 30% at concept approval, 30% at procurement sign-off, and 10% on final delivery. We are transparent about this from day one.
Do you offer payment plans? +
For larger projects we can discuss extended payment structures. We also accept payments via UPI, NEFT, and credit cards. Please discuss your requirements during the consultation.

Timelines

How long does a typical project take? +
Timeline depends on scope: Home Styling (2–4 weeks), Space Planning (2–4 weeks), Full Interior Design without renovation (10–16 weeks), Full Interior Design with renovation (16–24 weeks). We give you a realistic timeline at the outset and stick to it.
Can you deliver a project faster if I have a tight deadline? +
For styling and consultation services, yes. For full design and renovation, timelines are partially driven by lead times for bespoke furniture and civil work — we cannot always compress these without compromising quality, and we'd rather be honest about that.
What happens if there are delays? +
We build contingency into every project timeline. If delays occur due to third-party factors (supplier delays, monsoon season affecting civil work, etc.), we communicate immediately, adjust the schedule transparently, and manage all parties to minimise the impact.

After-Service

Do you offer any after-service support? +
Yes. All full-design projects include a 12-month aftercare programme. This covers warranty co-ordination with suppliers, minor touch-ups, and access to our team for advice on caring for your space and materials.
What happens if something breaks or is damaged after handover? +
We maintain relationships with all our suppliers and contractors and will advocate on your behalf for any warranty claims. For custom furniture we build directly, we offer a 2-year structural warranty.
Can you come back for a styling refresh after a few years? +
Absolutely — many of our clients engage us for seasonal or annual styling refreshes. Once you're a Maison Décor client, you have priority access to our team and our trade supplier network for life.
